Welcome to the Ultimate Pokédex!
What is it?
The Ultimate Pokédex is a skill for Amazon Echo. You’re probably more familiar with the term “app”, and also more familiar with the name “Alexa”. So let’s start over…
The Ultimate Pokédex is an app for Alexa. But not just any app. It’s hands down the best Pokémon reference that you can talk to. Remember Ash having a conversation with his handy Pokédex in the cartoon? Yeah, pretty much like that. But better.
Why would I use it?
Picture this. In your hands is your 3DS. You’re playing Pokémon Sun and you’re on your way to fight the grass “gym”. (Yeah, we know. They’re not called gyms anymore.) So now you’ve got a choice. You could put down your 3DS and Google search “what types are strong against fire”.
Or, you could keep playing your game and say into the air, “Alexa, ask the U Dex what’s strong against fire?” Alexa says back to you “Ground, rock, and water are super effective against fire.”
Your choice.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Zero bucks.
If you have an Echo, try it out. You’ve got nothing to lose.
How can I get it?
First, you’ll need an Amazon Echo. The standard model has a nice built-in speaker and is $99.99. The smaller model (the Dot) has the same functionality, but the speaker is much less powerful. The Dot is $49.99.
Once you have an Echo, you can install the Ultimate Pokédex for free from the Amazon Skill Store. Did we mention it was free?
